Wow. What a horrible day! Today the Duke had to be hauled back to my garage in the back of a truck.
After a long dentist appointment where the Doc told me that I had to have a tooth pulled within the year (the sonovapregnant dog!), I walked out to see that my bike's battery was dead! This is all my stupid fault...I left the key in the ignition -stupid stupid stupid me. [bang] ;D I went back inside the dentists and asked if anyone had some jumper cables. They thought this was hilarious and had a good laugh at me. I deserved it. I was able to jump my bike and ride off thinking I was home free.
15 minutes later I was crusing along trying to get back to the house on what I thought was plenty of gas left...not to be. I ran out of gas!!! I pulled over on the side of the road where nothing was around. I sat down in the hot sun miles away from my home and from any kind of gas station. I then actually started laughing, thinking it was funny at the time (hey, these things happen, right?). Truckers were driving past me laughing at me as I sat next my bike prepared to fight to the death if rattlesnakes or racoons attacked me trying to get my beloved duke. I called a friend of mine who lived nearby and he came and got me some gas. I filled her up, and tried to crank it up...
THE DUKE WOULDNT START! [bang] By now I was ready to weep. :'( This isnt the first time I've had problems starting the duke. I tried a couple of things but no go. It was BRUTALLY hot out there and my friend said lets hoist her up in the back of his truck (the SOB thought this was all kind of funny, I dont know why). So I decided yeah, let go home. So me and my buddy broke our backs putting her in the truck and drove back to my house. I spent the whole time in the back balancing my non-working baby. I kept thinking about the old quote from 300 -
"Return with your shield, or on it."
Lol. I dont know why I kept thinking about that.
So now, my duke is home in the garage. I confess that I haven't even gone out to try and restart her because quite simply - this aint my day, boys. I'm pretty unlucky today so I wont risk it.
Can I have some good luck bacon? [bacon]
Sorry

Thanks for the clover AND the bacon, guys! ;D
I will be sure to update how it goes tomorrow. The more I think about this, the more I laugh at it. Tomorrow is another day...maybe a more Italian day!
I can relate to your experience, I have more bad days than good days with my bike.
Tomorrow is another day and I hope its gonna be a good day for us. Hang in there my friend.
i dunno what year your bike is, but the carbys hate running outa gas, takes forever to get em restarted, if you got a low battery, your SOL
Yep, tomorrow will be better [thumbsup]
No fun when lightening strikes twice, but you've got the right 'tude ;D
It might be pissed at you calling it a Duke. ;D
LA
As I was reading your post, I was laughing at you! [laugh]
Actually, that sounds typically Italian, but you would have just sat and chain smoked on the side of the rode until some hot lady came by in an Alfa to give you a ride home.
thanks for the story.

Nonono, you break down with some random hot chick that picked you up and that is the
beginning of the story....
Keep in mind that it's now August, which means all of Italy and all things Italian are on their month-long holiday. Your bike wants it's holiday. ;D
Tomorrow's a new day.
