I got a letter from our Austin attorney today.
I get off Scott free as long as I:
Send $125 for a court fee to the Austin .gov
Refrain from any Austin moving violations from 1 August to 1 November 2008
The heinous Proceeding Straight thru a Right Only Lane charge will be dismissed.
I think I can handle that. I expect we all got the same group deal.
same here. got that a coupla weeks ago...
I'm avoiding Austin ;D

Why support their economy in spite of their dickheadedness towards you?
You showed up as peaceful friendly out-of-towners who wanted to enjoy the food/beverages/atmosphere...
Instead of being friendly stewards of the town -and pointing out "the way we do things here"...
(while they look out for public safety/general well being/real trouble)
They sprung a cheesy money trap on you.
Ya'll (from what I heard) weren't trying to be trouble.
You weren't familiar with the town and it's somewhat strange traffic pattern with limited markings...
I say make the beast with two backs them.
Let them starve.
If/when the local businesses HURT enough because the people
they have put in charge starve them out
-THEN
they'll change the environment they do buisiness in.
If you go and support them you're sending a mixed message -and ultimately delaying real progress.

i'd have to think about it. oh yeah. better bars. better roads around the area. liberal politics. no ultralounges. better beer selections. vegan restaurants. cooler scenery.
when it comes right down to it, i live in a crappier area. spending my money here sends the wrong message to Dallas that they are on the right track.
YES?
Oh, I thought you were calling me out with this thread.....
