Title: Does my bike have spark plugs?
Post by: Rameses on August 08, 2008, 03:25:30 AM
My new Hypermotard wasn't idling well earlier tonight, so I tried to check the spark plugs but couldn't find them.

I looked at the top of the cylinder heads where the plugs were on my old S4, but they weren't there.

Since I couldn't find any spark plugs, I tried running diesel in it to see if that would help, but now it's even worse.

What should I do?   ???

It's probably because you're out of Desmofluid.

You have to order it from Italy thought, and since it's August you'll have to wait.

You might need heavier oil.  I would try some 15W-90.

Take the cover for the headlight fluid off. I think the spark plugs are in there.  ;)

On the 1100s model they're under the seat. Next to the complimentary tire lube. [beer]

Aww you guys are mean. So he can't find the spark plugs, cut him a break!!!

-What I did was I hired a midget + bought 2 lighters. After drilling a hole in each of the cylinder heads, I was able to duct-tape the midget to the radiator + have him alternate flicking the lighters stuck in the 2 holes. I then connected the throttle cable to a valve which opens  a reservoir (Rizoma) filled with crystal meth, running IV into the little guy.  That bike pulled hard at WOM (wide open midget)... [coffee]

Funny, alot of new members have been posting a wave of stupid crap lately.

Anyway, rameses the HM1100 doesnt have Spark Plugs, it runs on an ohlins combustion expander.

Yea, they had to remove the spark plugs on the new engines for safety reasons.  Something about the position of the S4 plugs kept causing it to catch on fire.

Maybe its a diesel engine and has glow plugs instead?  Fill it up with diesel and see what happens?

Can't you have the two spares that are fitted on a DS 1000 - if you know someone with such a bike?

That's what friends are for, I think (don't have any myself, only hearsay).

Remember this gem from TOB.  The third post is awesome: http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/tech/114057-m750-does-use-antifreeze.html

I am going to get banned for linking to TOB?

Grease the bearing from the hard drive inside the Ecu, it may turn to slow... [coffee]
