Hi all,
I took delivery of my red 696 on July 17, and have been really enjoying the last few weeks. This is my first new bike after spending some time on a true beginner's bike (Honda Rebel 250) and then I "upgraded" to a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. All I can say about that Harley is NICE, but not for me. Too big and bulky and not much fun to ride. I'm relatively short 5'8", and I had a hard time holding that beast up on my tiptoes. So I did a ton of research and decided the bike for me was a Monster. Sold the Harley and turned that around and bought the 696.
The dealer I went to was TT Motorcycles in Clinton Township (northern Detroit area) and they were awesome. I am already close to my 600 mile maintenance and look forward to another good experience with those nice people.
If anybody here is in Mid-Michigan area, let me know I'd love to go riding sometime.
I'm in Norway - that's not close to Michigan is it? [laugh]
Welcome to Ducati and especially the DMF [thumbsup]

Welcome fellow MI'er! I grew up outside of Detroit (Rochester, Franklin, and somewhere by Pontiac when I was really little) and spent the past 6 years in Charlevoix, MI - way the hell up there! I go up there quite a bit now (now live in Chicago). Maybe I'll shoot you a PM if I get out that way. :) Cheers. Tom.
this is long been an old post, but congrats on the 696! I'm a NW Mi native, currently in SW Mi, very soon to be a CO resident! You dont see too many ducs in michigan these days do you...
