Title: A short list of "must have" touring gear?
Post by: Vin on August 10, 2008, 04:37:49 AM
Guys-

Doing a 10 France/Italy trip and have a pretty good idea of what I am bringing gearwise [wine]. But anybody already created a shortlist of "must have" essentials?

Thanks

Vin

2. Sunglasses
3. Second credit card
4. Extra break and clutch levers

do you plan on staying in hotels every night? Do you want to camp? It makes a big difference on what you bring.

Give this a go.  You can disassemble/repair your bike with a small amount of tools.  The rest really depends on what kind of weather you're expecting, how long the trip is, what kind of terrain, etc...

Hot and humid? Bring mesh stuff, but don't forget the rain gear.
Cold? gauntlet gloves.  Heated grips? Good shoes either way.
