I wanted to do a tail chop on my S4 and was looking to see what others may have done and how they went about it. It would be great to see some pictures and some suggestions (some what not to do's would be handy also). Thanks, Eichh

I think thats too much cutting.
What about the DP slim tail ? Does anyone have it and still want to chop ?
I also want to get rid of the bulky plastic stuff, but not turn it into a Manx cat

Used a pipe cutter to cut the frame. While LOOOOOONG and tedious, creates great cut lines and looks very clean.
The plate light was relocated under the seat above the wheel. The plate was mounted to an aluminum bar that is mounted to the lower bolts of the carbon side panels.
Thanks guys, seeing examples of where the signals and plates were relocated to helps out a bunch. My buddy has a mill and likes beer so I would be making the brackets myself out of stainless to match my Termis. Of course the Termis would look alot nicer tucked under once its chopped so I will probably be visiting my friend who tig welds and likes rum next. Im sure this will only start a domino effect of mods. Thanks again,Eichh

I think Magnus' MotoCreations chop shows that not all tail chops look the same...
I actually have an S4 - took to mine with a hacksaw last year after falling in with bad company (i.e. members of this board).
My chop is essentially free - less than $5 in parts if you use stock indicators - which I didn't :D
The second photo is a profile shot... the pipes haven't been chopped yet - the second half of the frame is a photoshop of what things will look like.
Good luck! [thumbsup]

Yar, the LEDs plug the cut off tube. A few people have gone this route - parts can be found here: http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=1333.0
flsurfdog has found a new LED supplier - his new indicators are wicked bright, and they don't need resistors!
