+1
"and they go into the corner SIDE BY SIDE... OH WOW!!"
i never did get to listen to any of that brilliant commentary...i'll have to steal someone's motogp.com password and check it out.
The CBS commentary was the worst, but I was rewatching some clips on motogp.com and the guys there said "side by side" a few times but the emphasis was different. I think it was during a Sete/Rossi battle
Steal away, just PM me for the uid/pw

??? So is there going to be a meet up at Motopia for the race ?? What time ?? I would like to join in if I am not too wasted after going to see Dave Matthews Band on Sat !
[moto] Post it up if there is a definite plan ! [moto]
Cool highlights on MotoGP.com - Thanks B8 & Svoloch ! Looks like they like Capirossi - what say y'all ?
I have subscription to motogp.com so I get all the videos :P
I'm in for Motopia Sunday. What time is the race?
I hate to break the news, but this weekend's race will be on CBS [bang]
On the brighter side, John Hopkins should be back on the grid [thumbsup]
Oh yeah, the race is at 1pm our time
The good thing is that we will already know that they wear leathers and pass side by side etc. [bang]
Noon or so Sunday?

Noon sounds like a winner - I'd rather hear bad commentary than "honey can you help me for a minute?" ( those can be some long minutes [bang] ).
We talking group watch at Motopia or what?
[moto] Why the heck not, it's at a bar! Unless everyone is in jail [leo] from the rowdy group disturbance of the peace moving Rich [laugh] it seems like a plan ! I
Nicky Hayden won't be riding this race, he injured his foot during the X-games or something.
Well that does it, I'm not gonna watch it then! If he's not racing then it just isn't a race, just a boring parade of wankers on loud bikes. Big deal! OK that's my one time, sober, late afternoon attempt at humor. Wasn't very good was it? Sorry, won't catch me making that mistake again. [laugh]
Back to the real subject. We still talking Motopia? Race is at 1:00 right? When will the flashmob thing happen... noonish??
Noonish sounds good to me [thumbsup]
noonish at Motopia it is.
Jim and I are planning on this.... [moto]
Is it really a flash mob if you plan 3 weeks in advance?!? :P
Hell, now've we've got WESTIES showing up [laugh]
yeah im in for sure.
might be my last meet up before i head back up to nyc.

I agree. If the weather God's approve I'll even show up on the ever elusive 916SPS. It currently resides in my garage covered in Mother's carnauba wax waiting for the detail wipe down. It's still not the happiest Superbike in North Texas but at least it idles and doesn't stall all the time. She still won't run happy at steady RPM but what do you expect from a full race motor? At least the burping and stuttering at constant street speed setting is somewhat better. Not gone by any means but it will survive in school zones and intersections. You just have to learn to let her idle with the clutch pulled in during some street runs. She's a hand full and always will be. If there has ever been a scooter that wants to run wide open all the time while you row through the gearbox then I guess that's what I own. Docile? no... wild ass crazy? yes. She's a handfull and then some. But she is the most awesome 916SPS I have ever seen... with all due respect to ***'s scooter! [thumbsup] How cool is it that we have two old school Superbikes bikes to drool over in such a small area?? Anyone out there with a 888SPO that we don't know about? That would complete my collection for sure. [clap] [bacon]
Wait. You're going to ride a Ducati to one of these deals? [evil] [cheeky]
Seriously, Brian, I hope the weather does hold out till Sunday - I can't wait to see that bike! Glad it's running better.
She's a piece of work for sure. Like bike, like owner I suppose. :P Regardless how she runs she looks 10 out of 10, which should righteously piss off that "vixen" person for sure! [thumbsup] And yes, I never ever plan to ride it anywhere if that makes your ass happy, whoever the hell you are! After all, we are the biggest wankers I am sure your LA ass has ever seen. Wow, did I just start some shit unknowingly? Oh well, who cares what they think. See ya'll Sunday at Motopia for the race watch, scooter or 4 wheeler... who cares. [thumbsup] [moto] Look forward to seeing you all!!!
Lets all pitch in to get Fastwin a camera!! [laugh]

They probably can't find a co-commentator to work two shows in a row with Greg White. Doohan held his ground today, as expected, but we sure had a lot of fun throwing rotten tomatoes at White. I'm still hoping he gets real sick and looses his voice before Indy. [thumbsup] What a goofball. :P
By the way, great to see the gang! Had a lot of fun and what a nice collection of Ducs. [clap] Jim and Lindy, the Monster looks killer. Ya'll did a great job. It's a beauty for sure.
Shall we plan a return get together for the Indy race??
Doohan did good, I like him. Haven't seen him around in forever.
WOW!! that was FUN! [moto]
George I'm so glad you rode with us!! :) Changing lanes was a lot easier for me. [thumbsup] Not to mention strength in numbers ;)
Thanks a bunch! [beer]

Great pictures Jim! Lindy it was really nice seeing you again. Love your scooter! Be careful on it, take it easy... and oh yeah, have FUN! [moto]
Was nice meeting Patrick's better half Tony(i)??? and the kiddos. They didn't bust up half the stuff my 11 year old would have! Have to carry special insurance umbrella coverage whenever I take him to a scooter shop or Bass Pro!! [laugh]
Hope everyone made it home safely and luckily all the much talked about rain didn't happen yesterday or today. [thumbsup] Was really glad I could actually ride to something this weekend, didn't look so promising a few days ago. Wish I could have straffed the Dub with you guys but if I don't get my resume finished Jen's going to put me on the curb for bulk trash pick up! Shouldn't even be typing this. :P
See ya'll again soon! We need another Muenster or Swanny's Abbreviated Casino run soon if the hot weather breaks like it did this weekend. [clap]
Great pic's Jim [thumbsup]...surprised many of them turned out considering that dang glare from my head. :P Enjoyed hanging out with everyone and watching those super motorcycles go fast on TV. ;)
Jim, Lyndy--enjoyed riding with you two [moto] Lyndy, you looked like you were having a great time out there. ;D
Really cool to check out [read "drool over" ] Brian's 916
Thanks for the pix....really awesome to see everyone's bikes. We'll try to make it to the next one! [moto] ;)
WOW! That was some line up out front of Motopia this afternoon. Good times. Always good to catch up with folks - seems like it's been a really long and hot summer... at least the weather today and yesterday were perfect for scooter riding and we had a great turn out, woo-hoo!
Lyndy - nice to see you again and that bike of yours looks fantastic - even better than those awesome pix y'all posted the other day [thumbsup] Thanks for letting me tag along with you westsiders on the way home. Kinda sad I couldn't have stayed and played longer [laugh]
Looking forward to more group rides this Fall. Maybe someone will plan something for the hill country soon.
[evil] [cheeky]
Have a great week [thumbsup]
Fun day watching racing and drooling over neat bikes [thumbsup]
Bryant, I keep meaning to ask you, why is there is piece of blue painters masking tape on your left front fairing? I swear I think I have seen it in several other pictures of your bike from other get togethers. What's the increase in top end speed tape vs no tape? Or is it an improved gas mileage mod that you are not sharing with the rest of us? I know it's not there to make it easier to pick out your white 848 among the tens of thousands of others out there. [laugh] Come on, spill the beans. ;D
Loading mishap in the HC. Pushing my bike into the wheel chock in my truck caused the fairing to clip George's 695 bar end and crack the fairing. It's a small crack, no biggie.
Ouch. Have you tried some white plastic 3M tape? Sorry for the boo boo but I thought I remembered seeing it before in some pics. I thought you just kept it there in case you had a sudden urge to hit another track day and needed some lens cover tape in a hurry. [thumbsup] Hope ya'll had a good time at the Dub, hopefully some stupid drunk didn't drive into it again while your bikes were out front. :P

Exactly... I still cringe when I think about the sound of my bike biting while we were loading the 848.
Yep, those nails on chalkboards sounds stick with you. Don't know which is worse, you scratching your own bike or someone anonymous doing it out of nowhere. My Dad used to call that "knocking the new off of it". Sounded like something he would say, he was the guy who used to throw bales of hay into the back seat and open trunk of his '73 240D Mercedes at the farm when the cows needed feeding. :P Off he'd go cross country bouncing around in the MB feeding the cattle. Just couldn't knock the country/rancher out of him. Never understood my interest in actually washing my car or bikes once in awhile. RIP padre. [thumbsup]
