The folks at Koyote Ranch called me today asking if we had a Ducati group shirt. They want to display the shirts from various groups that use the KR. Sounds like a prime time to make that LSD shirt up.

I agree with somehow using both Jim's and Will's designs. The front could have the Ducati crest design kind of small on the upper left, then we could use Jim's design on the back.
If this ends up being an annual/semi-annual pilgrimage to THC, then the design on back could change just for that event.
As far as which individual one of each design looks "best," I tend to like the crest design on the right (the one with the star), and then for Jim's, I like the design that has the red background and white, off-set blocks.
You could do a white shirt with the small, full-color crest logo on front, then the one-color red design on back.

I like your design Jim. If you don't mind, I'll recreate it in Illustrator and put it in a shirt template. I do like the idea of fewer colors. I'll play around with the logo (I'm liking the star version better) and come up with a white on red version.

Lisa, I like your idea of putting something on the back. This particular shirt shouldn't have the hills and "Texas Hill Country - Fall 2008" on the belly. It would look better on the back. Then the back could change every year/season/ride.
Also - what do you all think of putting Will's design as a "badge" on one shoulder/sleeve?

How about all the "designers" (and I use this term in the loosest possible connotation) post up "print quality" versions of their work. Then, allow the masses to pick and choose and print their own using cafepress.com (no, I don't own stock in this company). Then, we can all have the opportunity to be wearing a wide variety of LSD t-shirts. However, this would kind of diminish our "buying power" if we wanted to have a batch of 20-30 t-shirts printed up by some other local shop.
Just a thought. I'm good with whatever. The event [moto] is what this is all about, not the t-shirt. [thumbsup]

May I propose that we do two shirts:
1) A Hill Country '08-specific t-shirt and,
2) An "Everyday" LSD shirt (Damn, that's just funny...)
The Hill Country '08 shirt will have Will's crest design printed on the front upper left of the shirt and be about 2 /1/2" in overall height - full-color.
The back of the Hill Country '08 shirt will have Jim's red, off-set block design printed in one color. Overall height would probably be in the 8 - 10" range (that's what sh.... DAMN IT, I've got to stop hanging out on this board so much [cheeky] ).
The "Everyday" T will still have Will's design on the front just like the THC '08 shirt. The back of the shirt will have Gianni's "middle" design, also in full-color (the one that seems to have a vague sense of approving consensus from The Gang...) It looks like this design could at least be 5" tall.
So! Two shirts! Since Jason (a13bpilot) suggested we get a price for printing from his family member who does this sort of thing for a living, can Jason please get an idea on price for a batch of probably 30 - 35 each, full-color, designs front and back.
Alternately, can Giannis or maybe Bryant check and see what an identical shirt would cost from Cafe Press.
What might be interesting also is to find out how much a polo-type shirt with Will's design embroidered on the front would cost.

If we really want to do an everyday LSD shirt, why not just go ahead and apply for an official DOC. We might as well make it an official club. I'm sure there's a good amount of paperwork, but there isnt' really an active DOC in the area (AMS has the Texas Ducati DOC name, but it hasn't been active as far as I know) . I'm sure we can get some swag
Back to the shirts though, focus on 1 then worrry about the 2nd. Let's get the HC shirt going, it's 2 months away

Makes sense. Toni mentioned to me the other day that we're organized (?!?!) enough to become an "official" DOC. If we were interested, she would then not renew the old Texas Ducati Owners Club deal so we could fill the spot for this region.
There is paperwork involved and other odds and ends - crap like having a Prez, VP and Secretary. WTH? Not sure if anyone cares one way or the other about this and the whole DOC bit will probably need its own thread but if you go to the DNA website, there's a link buried down in there about starting a DOC and what benefits/swag is involved - it's not inconsequential as I recall. I can investigate it more and talk with Toni about it seriously if that's the direction we want to go.
Personally, I'd be all for a lil' DOC of our very own... it's not like we never get together or organize a ride or two! [roll]
Oh, and I agree; let's just focus on getting the Hill Country Ts ready - that'll be here before you know it. Yeah!

I did mine in Illustrator which is vector as well. I can save it out in any format needed. If anyone else needs their stuff vector'd I can do it instead of paying someone else to do it.

So it looks like we'll use Ron's t shirt connection. That price is good and we already have the graphics in the works. Which design are we going to use for the HC trip?
For THC, the shirts are gonna look like this:

it all depends on the shirt. if it's like the thin shirts you wear under shirt/tie then 2x if it's like the ams shirts i wear an xl (50-52). or size likes to eat.

These aren't under shirts, they are normal "shirt" t-shirts. I'll be glad to be the liaison with the shirt guy if that's who we go with. I'm assuming you're referring to the edges needing to be less round. Thanks for spotting that. I snagged the shield logo vector from somewhere online and hadn't noticed it. That explains that feeling I was getting that it "wasn't quite right".

While the black LSD shirt is directionally correct, we might want to revisit our options...

I think we would prefer 100% cotton shirts instead of the 50/50 blend.
Also the front Ducati shield logo looks too big - it should probably be about 2/3 that size.
Price seems a bit high compared to Ron's qoute...
doesn't hurt to see a sample. and the black shirt is $17...that's not bad.
i would hesitate to make the shield much smaller until we see something mocked-up.
I'll mock up the logos on a tshirt template to get the sizing & colors down before we get any samples done.

I think it was decided to try and get the Hill Country shirt done first since that's coming up soon, then once those have been printed, the "regular" club shirt will be made as well.

I needed the same thing, I just logged into my paypal account that I wanted to use and put in the recipients email account. I sent the amount that was invoiced from my email and put in the notes that it was for me and my user name. I think it was happywafflemonkeyatgmaildotcom. I think thats who I sent the money to using paypal. If you want, I can pay for you, and you just give me cash, but don't forget about the $100 interest. ;)

Yeah I made it to GABF. My first real break since starting this new gig. I was suppose to be in training but we had just migrated our employee network to 2008 two weeks before and the course they had me in that week was for 2003, so it got canceled at the last minute.

The lake house itself is in a bit of disarray atm. The AC finally died, after I kept it limping along at about 79-80 all summer. :-\ Got the new one in, but have some large holes in my walls to deal with. In addition, the new windows will be installed this Saturday, so I know it's going to be really messed up after that. With maint on Sunday I won't have any of the repair/clean up handled by next week. More importantly, any beer on hand will probably be prepped for travel. So the bar might not have anything on tap.
T'd be unconscionable t'have folk stoppin in, all parched from travels, and me not havin no tasty brews on tap for 'em to warsh the dust out thar maws. My boss is out of town until tomorrow, but I plan to chat with him about next weekend when he gets in. Since we have to be in for a system maint day this Sunday, technically, I
should be able to take off a few hours early on Friday to make up some of the time.However,
past performances are not a guarantee of future results. :P And I just got back from my mini-vacation.
I'll try to keep ya'll updated on the new shite as it comes to light.
