Title: 996/916 Wheels on an S4R
Post by: DrDesmo on August 14, 2008, 10:58:00 AM
Hey everyone -

What's needed to mount 996/916/748 style wheels on my S4R?  I had heard there may be a spacer involved or something to that effect.

Thanks!  [thumbsup]
Adam

I just spoke with Miles @ BCM - apparently the wheels I got (Marvic's) will bolt right on, but if anyone else has info about other wheels ... Just let me know here  ;D

Some 6 inch rears need a spacer for the rear caliper or it hits the spokes.

I think it's BSTs though.

I have a 3 spoke brembo rear wheel that came off a 748 mounted on my 04 S4R (which came with 5 spoke wheels).  The issue i have heard is that the valve might hit the caliper, but this 748 rim has the valve hole off to the side, and even with a straight valve, it clears the caliper just fine.

I'm not sure about the front wheel.
