This winter I plan to tear down my recently purchased M900 (see first pic below) and repaint as the frame has battery acid damage and tank has a few dings/scratches. I know I want to go red with the frame, but am slightly torn between what color to go with the tank and front fender. I was pretty set on the gloss black like the 695 set up, but then I saw some pics today of a titanium s4r and got a nice warm IZ_ feeling inside. Red on red also looks nice. I'm wondering what color combo of the three below people think is best?

The Ti with the red frame is hot, but Black with the gold frame like you have is classic. [thumbsup]
Black with black frame :P

Red on red looks hot on the old bikes too, so does red on a gold frame.
yeah, my last monster (750) was red on gold and I did like that...but I'm pretty stuck on the red frame for this one. I'm leaning towards Ti right now.

I should also note that the tail is getting chopped and I will probably chop a few inches (less than last bike, especially since these cans are completely cored) off of the cans and paint them black
Seriously bro. Who cares what we think, it's your bike. Paint it the way you want it. [thumbsup]
the titanium with the red frame hits hard for me. I'd do that but use a different tank badge to set it apart.
Ti with red frame. [thumbsup]
Almost better than [bacon]
...
Almost ;)
definately the Ti/Red combo, check out this thread http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=5549.0 (http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=5549.0)
I have fallen in love with this bike

Yeah, that's where the Ti/Red pic is from and reading that is when I really starting considering this scheme.

Thats my sheeot right there :) I like it, but I warn you the eggshell paint isn't easy to care for.. It doesn't take kindly to ANY kind of stains, road tar or grime, etc..
If/when I repaint, I'll be doing the same color....but it'll be glossy and easier to care for.
Shit. Now you've got me thinking about that combo for my Sport Classic.

That would be sweet. Go for it. [thumbsup]
Yes, yes it would.
Now I just have to wait for winter. Only another couple of months away up here in Maine.
white on red frame with black wheels, classy IMO
Red frame Ti Tank [thumbsup]

And here I am thinking about PC'ing my frame PS Blue, and painting the monster silver :D
Always greener on the other side loL!
Definitely the Ti/Red. BUT, where are you going to get it painted? Do you think it will come out to the same quality as the OEM? I ask because I might be painting mine too but I am going to get a "Dark" black paint job. I just want to make sure I can find someone who can make it come out as nice as the OEM dark.

Dude, your sheeot is so nooice. I actually saw that bike with a completely blacked out screen in place of the clear one and it really complimented the stealthy look of the bike...just a suggestion. ;)
Black, everything...but the tank....with red decals. IMHO.

A good local painter should be able to match the finish. Mine will probably look a little different, however, because I'll get a few coats of glossy clear to protect the paint job and also for easier upkeep, rather than the flat finish.

I know that a lot of people like this look, but for some reason the white tank really throws me off and doesn't look good to me.....maybe I'm just paranoid of the black and whites with the lights on top? I do like the black work on the rest of the bike though!

That makes sense. But it won't look the same. I think its worth the extra maintenance. I think if you put these on http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/TANKSLAPPER/Accessories/TANKSLAPPER.html (http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/TANKSLAPPER/Accessories/TANKSLAPPER.html) there would be nothing to really maintain as long as you don't scratch it. Don't mean to thread jack but does anyone know if the eggshell finish of the Ti is the same as the finish on the Dark matte black tanks? In other words is the only difference the color? They both look matte. I think the Ti is a satin finish while the Darks are a matte finish but not sure.
EDIT: Never mind about that tankslapper product cuz it wouldn't work on a matte finish.
All black for me. :)

FHE from TAftonomos is why I mentioned it might be better to go with glossy clear for easier maintenance rather than the eggshell finish
