Title: not able to get the handle steer locked
Post by: corpthug on August 17, 2008, 10:56:01 AM
Just yesterday i had a service done on my '06 S2R and the mechanic told me the handle bars were adjusted because they were scratching the tank, great.  I get back and realize the steer lock doesn't work anymore because the handle bars don't turn enough for the mechanism to work.  Does anyone know a quick way to fix this so I don't have to make another hr long trip to the dealer?  Thanks!

You will have to re-adjust the steering stop.  Look for a allen screw with a lock nut on the lower triple tree, and adjust accordingly.

maybe rotate the bars so they don't touch the tank after putting the steering stop back where it was?

The left screw will adjust right portion of bar and the one on the right side adjust the left side.
