As some of you know my wonderful hubby suprised me with 2006 749 SBK as a wedding gift. :-* :-*
The rest of the story is....
I go to VT to visit my parents and get my (thier) car inspected. I come home and he tells me he has an out of town meeting all day two days before our wedding. >:( This I believe because we are working on a housing project in said meeting location. I think nothing much of it. As said meeting gets closer, he starts acting a little funny, taking calls out of our office and "just killing time" when I ask what he has been up to. [roll]
Meeting day arrives and he leaves. We maintain our normal contact throughout the day and I suspect nothing. He calls me and tells me he will be home later than expected. Around 10pm I hear some noise from our driveway, but dismiss it as we share a drive with 15 other garages. Then my phone rings and he asks me to come down to the garage. Okay no problem.
The first thing I notice is his ST4s is missing. I didn't hear him pull in, and you can hear it from a couple blocks. Next, I notice a twin of his 999 parked in front of his bike. I was speachless. I walked up to it and it was a 749. And he said it is mine. I was so happy I did a little "I have a superbike" dance (good thing that is not video) and give him a big hug. Finally I settled down and look the bike over and it's perfect. Goodies in all the right places and it is already lowered. [thumbsup]
So he didn't have a meeting....Instead he flew into Boston, drove up the coast a little, and drove my new bike back over 500 miles through 5 storms, some with hail. I have definately found a keeper. His ST4s was parked at the airport all day.
Now for some pictures (ignore the other children in the background):

...reflectors
Yeah, I know. :-[ :-\
They are on the list of mods I'm going to do:
Reflectors
DP mirrors (ones that you can actually see things in)
Rearsets
Tank gripper
A set of Shark Skinz (this baby is definately going to the track)
Everything else is pretty much already done.
She sure is purdy!!! - but looks aren't the only thing. Enjoy getting to know her, and double enjoy her at the track.
(Thought that was a warrior in the background!!! my keeper's got one - and rides the hell out of it!!! Took it to the track last time [thumbsup])
I'm reminded of that episode of the Flintstones where Fred buys Wilma a bowling ball.
It was really a gift for himself ;)
[laugh]
hmmmmmmm..... lm needs a hypermotard
Keeper? Hell, for a 749 I'd do him (awkward??).
Absolutely gorgeous bike though. They're still one of my favorite sbk's.
damn, that is one really sweet gift. enjoy it.
I got to get me a girl that would do something like that for me.. i'd marry her if she got me a cool 748s in yellow.
Holy Sh......!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great story [thumbsup]
Enjoy the ride ;D
