just need to vent a little so i don't get arrested for murder. had to put down my wife's puppy today because she had some kind of incurible blood disease. of course the vet couldn't tell me that before i spent the money on her. we have had the dog for 6 months and my wife acts as if it was our lab that we have had forever.go to work to find that virtually nothing has gotten done as it should. [thumbsup] guys are we to immature to do what we know we have to.
last week i call AMS-A to make sure it's cool that i come up and get my tires mounted. the young kid up there says yeah no prob just come in first thing in the morn. easily done. call today to say i'll be there tomm morn as we discussed last week only to be told they are to backed up and will call me back next week to reschedule my appt. CRAP!!! so i call eurosport a little more expensive but at this point i don't care i just want my damn tires on.
i get home and begin the search for my ramp. i ask my son shane " did you guys use my ramp to load the dirt bikes when you went to the river?" "yeah!" he says. "where is it now?" i say. he says "i don't know!" the one D*** answer he knows sets me off. so after some fatherly-son discussion and a few phone calls we find out that he loaned them to his buddy after they left here because it was easier than using the board he had at his house. "GO GET IT!" i say. "CAN'T they are out of town until saturday!" "ARE YOU F***ING KIDDIN' ME?" "NO! i wouldn't be jokin around as pissed as you are right now." as he proceeds to the safety of the house at world record pace. so tommorrow i get to pull a rich (mckraut) and place the tires around my waist, a backpack with my work clothes (which i know will be wrinkled when i get there) and ride from my house in midlothian to eurosport in ft. worth. i guess we all have bad days once in awhile i just needed to vent.
I was having a good day until I drove down to Killeen.
I witnessed TWO motorcycle wrecks, both totally unrelated, within not even a quarter a mile of eachother.
One involved Capt. Squidly and the amazing Bounce Technique, although it wasn't his fault, I'll say that. He got bumped off the road by a jeep, grabbed a handfull of brake in soggy median grass, and instead of stopping the bike, the bike stopped him and flung him off, then continued on by itself across the other side of the highway before wrecking out into a twist of nothingness. Capt. Squid was wearing a helmet, sleeveless T shirt, basketball shorts, and tennis shoes. He landed sans shoes, barely had his socks left, road rashed everywhere, and barely had his helmet on his head (he didnt' have it strapped on, just had it plopped on his noggin). Luckily the guy driving the Jeep stopped, and in ensuing rush of people that followed from both sides of the highway, a doc from the local er happened to be in the traffic mix, as well as a couple army medics.
The other one involved a cruiser guy who ran into the back of another car. Seeing as how the car was missing its back bumper, it could only mean one thing. Senor Cruiser wasn't wearing ANTHING on the head (not even the skull cap or as I call it, condom helmet), a t shirt, jeans, and boots. He survived a good deal more decently than Capt. Squidly, but I don't know how he turned out injury wise because I only saw Senor Cruiser after he'd been cared for walking around and whatnot. He was bandaged up pretty heavily on the upper body but seeing as how he was mobile I guess his lowers were ok. He's just motherf*ckin lucky he didn't die. So was Capt. Squidly.
Morals of the story:
A ) WEAR YOUR F*CKING GEAR PEOPLE. I'm lucky I have a strong stomach because I stopped to check on Capt. Squidly (I had to yell at people not to take off his helmet) and damn....it was BAD.
B ) Don't EVER ride a motorcycle in Killeen, Texas, USA.
Tyler does the same shit with my stuff, so its all the kids. and as for the kids checking the fields for mines, I'm okay with that, I really think everyone, EVERYONE should do at least 2 years in the military. It would help the kids with alot of their short commings!
At least when Nora works on the bike she puts the tools back in my toolbox, unlike tyler he likes to take them from mine and put them back in his. >:(
brian you just wait!! especially since colin plays baseball. let me know what you think of "SELECT" ball and their pricing. and then you get stuff like this on top of it.
alan could you see some of these kids with that lil' stick on their knees poking it in the ground. then one says i'm bored stands up and throws it. it lands on a mine KABOOM!!!! the faces on the rest would be worth it.
Dude, if I hear "I'm bored" one more time...
SCHOOL STARTS MONDAY!!!

Tyler starts school on sept 3rd, can't wait!!
[thumbsup] It will be another crappy day in squidland tonight @ NW & Garland and the Sonic ! Last week the LEOs had three cruisers parked on the grass gazing into the Sonic, two cruisers on the road between Sam's & the public park & two cruisers floating around. I was shopping at Sam's not burning off the last of the Tourances before having them changed!
[leo] The city finally seems serious about stopping reckless & loud behavior out there. I wonder why they don't put some cycle cops on it to try to do this in a less heavy handed way - ah.. if I ran the world !!!
I live a mile & a half from this scene & honestly don't care if they go out there & kill each other as long as they do it quietly after 10 PM ! [thumbsup] But as loud as it has been listening to Vance & Hines VS Screamin' Eagles jeez! It amazes me that no one has gone postal jihad on their asses ! OK I feel better !

I thought it best to delete my hitting kids with shovels and soccer in mine fields post. Oooops, I guess I just kinda repeated it. :P He'll never be good enough for "select" baseball. He thinks he's that good but he's not. Truth hurts. That would require him to actually work hard and be persisent at something and even his own Dad can't make him do that. He and I have a lot more in common than me and his Mom when it comes discipline and work ethic. Read: Momma's boy. OK, I'm done with family/parenting stuff for the year. Back to scooter posts.

I saw rgr's post, that sucks, but that poor guy was a bit off center and w/o meds. I'm glad the neighbor was able to get him policed up and moved to a facility. I've heard crazy stories of dementia/alzheimers patients wandering off and really endangering themselves and others.
Chris, sorry about the shitty tire troubles. Maybe we should all pitch in and get a tire changer, keep it centrally located and have all the tires delivered out to it.
Or we could all use Randy [thumbsup] Did I mention that he did a great job on my tire swap?

2. Just have the tires delivered to the warehome!! Then go over to the warehome give randy your bike, grab a drink from the fridge and get in the hot tub, until he gets done! [thumbsup]

Bingo! You're right on both accounts! Problem is the "meltdowns" when he messes up a game or it jerks him around. Have to shut the game off and wait for him to finish burning up on re-entry. Then I have to repeat the same thing I always say, "it's a game, it's supposed to be fun, if it's not fun then don't play it", which to him is the same as me going "blah, blah, blah, blah...". :P Next time he blows up over a game I'll just with the your second point. I'll go to Scott's, drink his beer while sitting in the hot tub and watch Randy fit some new buns on the bike! Very civilized! [drink] [thumbsup]

O.K. this is creeping me out - that is, verbatim, what happens around our house :o I mean down to the letter! Must be an age thing? Anyway, I enjoy the days of knowing exactly where Sam is and who he's hanging out with :-\
Hmmm, that's kind of a crappy. Sorry for that.

I think about this all the time......it's the thought that keeps me sane on the days when it seems like the moon is off balance and my kids can do nothing but fight and complain!
HOOOO RAH!
I had a great day! [thumbsup]
Work was good, my bicycle ride was great, and my workout was good too. Endorphins are the shit.
Steph & I had a really good visit & dinner with our friend [thumbsup]

Well, OK I think, all things considered. It's gonna take some time, but I think he'll do fine.
Thanks Bryant ;)
You know, it was a good day... Wrapped up a big job (mostly). Hung out with Randy. Quality time with Stephanie, & my friend who's wife just died.
Witty reparté on the forum, exciting events this weekend.
Good music, good food, good wine.
All that, plus my good looks & charm ;D
Life's good...
See you soon [thumbsup]
Way to make Chris feel better by telling him how GREAT your days were [roll]
OK, this is one of those good threads. People have good days, sometimes they have bad days... mostly good. Thankfully. Oh yeah, and people other than me have hell with their kids. Isn't that their job? To test you 24/7? More goodness. They're not bad kids, they just drive us nuts and it's OK to say that on the world wide web. No harm, no foul. And yes, being an adult qualifies you for being susceptible to be driven nuts by your kids. It completes the circle. Maybe I should bring up the "knocking sense into them with a shovel" post again.... nah, bad idea. [laugh] [bang] [popcorn] Didn't I say I was finished with parenting nonsense posts earlier? OK, now I am for sure. ;D Again, back to scooter posts! [moto]
i was gonna call randy but this morn was the only time i had to do it except for late (9pm or later)
in the evening. he will get some of my business soon enough. today was a decent day but got alot better. the ride to eurosport was awkward with 2 tires wrapped around my waist however some kid did make me laugh when the best he could come up with at the light was "dude! u look like the michelin man. hahahahaha!" i get to eurosport at 10:00 a.m. told work i would be in at noon. the guys there were nice esp tony and scott ( another patron in there said scott used to ride in moto gp when i mentioned i normally use AMS-A). don't know if it was true but whatever. so at 12:00 a gentlemen in overalls walks out and says your chain is trashed you need a new one A.S.A.P. we can do it now for X amount. i told him to just put the tire on and let me get to work as i am already late. so at 12:30 (2 1/2 hours ) i pay and i am headed to work. i call ams when i get there and ask if when they did my warranty brake work 3 weeks ago ( and i have only ridden to work 3x since then) did they notice anything wrong with my chain. i was told as recall everything was in really good shape. so now who do i believe. i looked at my chain with a magnifing glass and don't see any stress marks everything looks good on both sprockets. i am sure those guys are good decent guys but it just didn't feel right like when i walk into ams and tara and mark call me by name. so the tires are on, i am on my way and my son has said he will purchase me a new ramp if it comes back screwed up. so all in all not a bad day (at least the only crap in my yard belongs to the dogs all be it a great dane and a lab so they look like bombs)

That's not too bad, at least you have new tires on. How many miles do you have on that chain? I can't imagine it being so bad that they said it was trashed. If you need help w/ the chain, I have the chain tool that can cut and press a new chain on. Sunday at ***'s could be a prime time to do it.
Chris,
How many miles on your Monster? If you take good care of your chain ( lube, clean, adjust, etc...) on a 600/695/696 it should last a long time. Don't know those folks in FW at all but if AMS just recently saw your bike and noticed the mileage I would like to think they would have said something to you about the chain and sprockets if they needed changing. I gave carte blanche to Jeff over my 916SPS work and he could have reamed me on a hundred different levels but they only did what we originally talked about. I have no doubt they looked at other things and if they needed updating they would have done it. Period. [thumbsup] Good enough for me.
i have 10200 miles on it and it was at ams with 10050. i clean my chain like a maniac because i have seen what can happen with those things.

[roll] From General he moves up to Field Marshall Charming which sounds a little Teutonic, so in order to keep with an Italian theme either Holy Roman Emperor Charming or Pope Charming are more fitting! [clap] Don't think Scott has a royal bloodline & I'm not calling him H.R.H. ( His Royal Highness ) under any circumstances !! [puke]
