New rider/new owner of M696/new to East Bay. Been doing runs along Skyline/Grizzly Peak and will continue (still just scratching the surface) but looking for suggestions for other places to ride. Recognize my limitations so no flaming please! Just trying to get to know the area and my bike better. Thanks! ;D

Probably better to move this to the MOB board.
MOB... but head across the Bay Bridge, down the 280 until you get to Hiway 35/92 then take Vista Point turn off- awesome stretch that weaves thru hills and forest on it's way down towards Alice's.

May check this route out this weekend. Thanks!
Head on up to Napa country . Dolph
Any ride OUT OF THE EAST BAY is a good ride. That place is a shit hole.
Wow, that's a lot of venom on the East Bay.... ;D

You're delusional if you don't agree.
Delusional??? O.k. I'll bite... What happened while you lived here in the East Bay that it so stained your image of our loving and hospitable community? It looks like you now live in the wonderful wilds of Wy. now which makes me very jealous....except during winter.

I like Berkeley. What's wrong with the east bay?

Berkeley is full of filthy, dirty, jobless hippies who insist on trying to "expand my mind" whenever I go through there looking for a decent cuppa.
At some point I'll explain to them that I actually
am "the man" and I'd love to help in keeping them down if it meant I could walk the sidewalk without being accosted. Seriously-go save the whales somewhere not in my way.
Straight south to Socal ;D

I've read about/met more gay people living in northwest Wyoming than the SF/Monterey bay area where I came from.
When I moved up here all the rednecks were pissed off about that movie.
"There's no such thing as a gay cowboy". [laugh]
Amazing how many "cowboys" that love the cock.
Just so you know, I dig the pussy.

:D [thumbsup]
Thanks everyone for the comments/suggestions. (ADG -- not sure what your issue is with East Bay, but it looks like you've moved on, so I hope you like the place where you are now better! [thumbsup]) Ended up doing a Newbies group ride from Castro Valley north to the Wall on Sat. Met some cool people and had zero issues on the ride. Spent time riding on my own on Redwood and Pinehurst Sunday morning. At this point, can't get enough [moto] so any other ideas for great rides in this area, let me know!

Palomares road, cull canyon road in castro valley, are my faves, along with the ones you did! Niles canyon is good too, just ride non traffic times

That's like < 1%. (Which, granted, is about 1,400 people to avoid).
It's full of plenty of educated liberal foodie elitists too. :D
Really, it's a pretty damn nice place overall.
