Just thought I would let the local guys know. I guy on the ducati.ms site posted getting his hypermotard stolen on 69th and B'way.
My Hypermotard S was stollen last night 08/21/08 on 69th Street and Broadway. It was parked legally infront of a 24 hour diner.
Bike has a red frame and black plastics and termi slip-ons. It is 2008 and has aprox. 900 miles on it.
VIN # ZDM1YACP58B000981
NEW YORK PLATE # 86FJ18
Police report filed. Hopefully it will be recovered.
thanks.
I will definitely keep my eye out. I hate thieves >:(
holy shit dude. thats 3 of em this year. the vin and plate is on my cell phone and ill keep my eyes peeled. Its make the beast with two backsed up casue a bike was stolen in that area back early in the season too.
Sorry about the loss, I will keep my eyes open. These things have a tendency of not showing up again though, hope it was insured.
I hate to say it, but with the rise of dual-sport type bikes popularity in the hoods (at least that I've seen in BK) I'd be willing to bet these are being sought after & shipped out of the city (probably to Baltimore or some other wanna be city ;) ). If I had one, I'd not park it on the street. Sux though...

I see ALOT of dual sports in baltimore and phillie, the ghetto parts of it atleast, ghetto ass kids doing 2 mile wheelies with no helmets and running from cops. Though i doubt any of them could even afford one, even if it is stolen. Stripped for parts? unlikely, there arent alot of HM owners. Stolen for themselves yea. time to equip the grips with a tazer..... apply skin, complete circuit.

Coolest idea ever, Im sorry to hear this farrel, didnt you get one stolen earlier in the season too? Sorry again man getting a bike stolen is horrible :-[
^ Yeah, this is the second time for him. [bang]
Time to find a garage?
Oh, no no not me again. I found this post from a member on ducati.ms and posted it here out of kindness bc there is a huge NYC ducati community here. I am just trying to help out a fellow rider. I still have mine and I dont plan on getting a second bike stolen.
By the way people are stealing these if you see one it is probably stolen.
Ok phew i misread it i thought you said the guy on ducati.ms got his stolen and yours was stolen the night before! Glad yours is still in safe hands farrel! And my best goes to that poor guy on ms hopefully he has some luck finding it.

So if I see someone on one I should knock them off the bike and take it so I can return it to the rightful owner? ;D
