Title: Oh the huge manatee!

My bike in the shop....stripped naked.....If the bike were with me id give that piston head a good cleaning. Looks like i need to go pick up some techron cleaner.
its been 21 days of no moto. :(

What grade of gas do you use?

87 Mobil or Sunoco.

it went in casue of worn valve guides. I assume the black carbon build up is a result of that.

imma sea foam the sucker when i get her back.

my dad owns a tire shop, got an awsome set of tools. he could fix it.

ya, nothing wrong really, pistons and valves get dirty no matter how good your bike is setup.

My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

+1  I've seen a few air-cooled engines opened up like that and they all looked just about like that.  I would think it would still be a good idea to clean the pistons heads while the heads are off.

i wish i could. but the bike isnt in my possession and im not about to pay $80 to have them clean something thats pretty normal. Ill just run extra rich Techron in my next fill up. i have an itch to go down there with some sea foam and an old rag. lol
