Spider,

It sure does get bloody hot in Adelaide and it is a clean heat.. not that humid.

I have tried the Dianese mesh jacket but it just didnt seem to fit me properly.  As I said earlier I do like the look of the Motard Summer but I think they are made by Dainese.

Just checked my Motard and yes it is made by Dianese..... But fits me fine (I'm of average build at 82 kgs).........

Try it on if you can.....  [roll]

Big T,

Will probably take the Monster into Ducati Adelaide this week to show them the white stuff on my oil level window ( see my other post ) and while I am in their will check out the Motard if they have one.

They do look the goods.

I have a Dririder RallyCross Off Road Series jacket.  (that's all the names I could find on it).  It only cost a few hundred bucks and comes with a waterproof insert, armour in the arms and shoulders, padding in the back, and a pocket in the back for an hydration bladder (and possibly a back protector).
It is possible to buy an upgrade kit for it which includes the bladder, uprated armour, and a fleecy liner to keep you warmer on those cooler days.
It has a lot of mesh and is really breezy when you are moving.
I wouldn't call it absolute first rate protection but for those casual summer blasts it is ideal.  [thumbsup]
I think I even did a Tassie trip in it.
'02 M900ie, DP CF mufflers, DP mirrors, CF side covers, beer tray, belt covers, and sprocket cover, K&N filter, clear indicators, Speedymoto 5 spoke clutch cover, etc, etc, ad nauseum.

I'm voting leathers.
And water  ;D

It gets warm in Brisbane too.

I got a Dainese Zentex.

You prolly won't find a more breezy summer jacket.

Fabric of course, and standard Dainese shoulder and elbow pads, but the chest, arms and back are kevlar mesh, which is strong enough to hold together in a serious crash (which *sigh* I managed to test out).

To describe, the mesh is 'meshy' enough for you to see right thru if you're wearing a bright shirt. It typically gets slightly uncomfortable when stationary, but is still likely the best and most breathable jacket in the shops.

I wouldn't use it at all on its own if the temp goes below 20 degC, that's how effective the mesh is, and that does mean you'll need to wear another layer under if it does get chilly.
I've also used this on a trip round East and West Tassie around the end of Summer, so having the jacket and some extra layers took care of hot and cold (and wet) conditions perfectly.

Cost is around $300 and seems to be on sale at Peter Stevens (in Ringwood). Avail in various bright colours, but fortunately there's a mostly black one which I got.

Dainese also have some kevlar mesh pants which are hidden under zipped flaps which aren't bad either.

Went into Ducati Adelaide this weekend and tried on the Ducati Summer Motard Jacket.  Terrific jacket and good fit.  Missed out on getting one from Salt Lake Ducati via ebay for $300 .. bummer.. Didnt like the price of $650 Aus...

Will surf the net and see if I can find one at the right price!!!

Super T.I.B

I just have a Dririder Climate Control jacket with the 3 removable liners. I think it does it's job pretty well. Been down on it once and doesn't have so much as a scratch.  [thumbsup]
