Tailoring a Leather Jacket?

So I bought this jacket when I got my Monster a year ago:

My concern is that I've lost almost 30 pounds since I arrived in Afghanistan, and I'm afraid my jacket will be too loose when I get home.  I bought my leather pants a size too small, so they should be alright, but I'm wondering if there's a way to tailor a leather jacket. 

If I can get it resized, will I lose any protection?  Anyone ever had this done before?

Maybe the seams between the leather and side stretch panels will work.... less stretch, but I'm guessing quite easy to do.
I'd leave the shoulder and sleeves as they are - probably difficult to change anything there.

He's doing well.  Even though the relationship between my wife and I is over, she's not the type to withhold my son from me.  I get to see him on the webcam about once a week.

As for losing the weight... the Afghan Diet and Fitness program is quite simple.

1. Don't eat.
2. Don't sleep.
3. Deal with an insane amount of stress.
4. Put on 60 pounds of body armor and ammunition... another 80 pounds in your rucksack... then walk up and down mountains all day.

It's too easy.

Take/send it to a place that is used to dealing with moto leathers. For instance, Barnacle Bill:

They will have the right skills to do what you need. But keep in mind that they may not be able to do what you need. Depending on how your body composition's changed will play a part. Talking in the bottom is pretty easy. If you'd need the shoulders arms etc done... that's a lot more messy and you might find it less costly to buy a new jacket than to have the existing one very heavily reworked. I can't hazard a guess as to prices... so you'll need to do that leg work once you're home.

Just tried on my gear...  My jacket swamps me and my leather pants are about two to three inches loose in the waist.  All of my t-shirts that were skin tight before I left now drape off of me.  I don't have a single pair of pants that fit.  The shorts that I'm wearing right now are being held up by a belt (two notches tighter than before) and the grace of God.   

Losing all of this weight may be more expensive to bounce back from than my upcoming divorce.

I am not sure if I would want to change the jacket and other stuff.  Most likely you will gain the weight back over time.

You could just sell it and take the hit and buy some more gear.  Don't want super loose gear or else it won't do it's job.
