A Renthal 14T front sprocket is $49 I think..Shipping would put you over the $50 limit.

You might find some Rizoma grips or bar-ends on ebay for about $50. Maybe a small carbon fiber or billet doodad...

But my advice is save it for when you actually need something (crash damage) or have a particular mod or upgrade in mind.

speedymoto crankcase billet cover @ around $50...
rizoma SS rear brake reservoir in your choice of colour @ around $47..
coloured rim stripes @ not much...
a loud Stebel Magnum or Nautilus horn... either @ less than $50...

Me?  I never have a problem wondering what I'm gonna spend the spare dollars on....  the queue of desirable bling is always longer than the ability to instantly pay for it all...lol...

I say leave the $50 and dump some change into your paypel account every paycheck or whenever you think about it.  That way, before you know it you have a few hundred dollars and I can assure you $400 worth of toys is MUCH more satisfying than half a set of mirrors :)

Maybe you could buy some gear with the $50?  Gloves?  Spare helmet?  Tank bag?

Alternately, I just bought a selection of color LEDs for my instrument cluster on my 01 750.  If the mod turns out well, I'll post a how-to guide (even though it's super easy).

I hope so.  The bulbs in the M750 instrument cluster are just #194 bulbs, so there are a wide variety of options from various vendors.

I originally tried placing blue-colored incandescent #194 bulbs from O'Reilly in there, but they were far too dim.

So, I decided to go the LED route by ordering some blue ones from superbrightleds.com (WLED-xLX, the brightest ones they have).  Total cost was under $50 including shipping.

They are due to arrive tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes.  I am concerned that they will either be too dim or have too narrow of a viewing angle to look nice.  We'll see. :)

Hmm... Cheap mod?

I head DP is pretty stingy.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

My LEDs came in a day early, and I finished the mod in under an hour.  Check out the tutorial here:

The advantage is that the total cost of the LEDs that I ended up using was under $4.   So that's about as cheap as you can get. ;)

Yeah, provided you know how to solder :).  I'm not saying I can't, but I'm saying I've worked with some people who should really leave it to the pros :)

There was no soldering.  My 2001 Monster's cluster is lit by four incandescent bulbs from the factory (#194), so it was a drop-in bulb replacement.  Super easy.

But yeah, on a 696, you'd have to do some soldering.  He Man has a tutorial on how to do it in the Tutorials section.

Nice, didn't realize they were incandescant.  Mine are a mild blue/white so I never had the urge to change them anyway.
