Myself and a couple of buddies are planning a trip up from south Jersey/Philly area to Port Jervis and surrounding areas this weekend. We're planning on heading up Sat late morning and staying in the area till late sunday. If anyone wants to meet up, give some road recommendations, or places to avoid it would be greatly appreciated.

We have ridden on, and planning on hitting up PA-434, 590 and some of the smaller roads in the hills west of port jervis but really dont have anything other then google earth to go off of for any of the areas north, north east.

thanks

If you haven't been on 590 in a while, remember to keep the speeds down a bit.   The pavement is really terrible in many sections, esp. at the apexes of turns.  Also, there are a lot of summer people on those roads this time of year, they are best hit in the early AM when possible.

Earliest I can get out for an extended ride is 8/30 (next sunday).  I'll keep an eye on the weather and post up a meeting spot/time and general itinerary a couple of days prior.  Any input is def. welcome.

I don't have roads on my work computer, but will post up a bunch during the day on Friday.

Yeah it's not looking to good for saturday. I dont mind scattered showers but 1-2 inches is a shit load of rain. Pending a break in the weather we're most likely going cancel any long trips for this weekend.

He Man I'm gonna PM you my cell# anyway. Give a call if you end up heading to hawks nest.

Ended up riding Hawk's nest on Sunday with my harley buddy.  It turned into a beautiful day despite a little stormy weather early on.  I will say that the scenic quality of Hawk's Nest is beautiful, but there's way too much traffic and the run is pretty short for the drive.  Definitely need to find some other roads out there to make the drive worthwhile in the twisty department.

I didn't have a chance to post some roads, but Lackawaxen comes to mind as a great road near Hawk's Nest.  Ping me next time and I'll have more to share.
