Chain grease on brown leather

I got some chain grease on a brown leather seat. It smeared when I tried to clean it with Luxol. Any suggestions on how to get that junk out of the leather, or at least get the leather to be all one color?

I used luxol twice, went to the store to get some saddle soap and when I got home, the seat was dry and looked fine.
I'd delete the thread, but it's possible someone else will be clumsy and find this.
