Just want to point out that the Triumph Demo truck will be at RPM this Friday and Saturday (10/16 & 10/17).
You'll be about 3 miles away after lunch.

Alan

Good times as always and a really nice turn out... lots of hooky playing from work. My lips are sealed, it's our secret!! After all the crummy weather we've had for two solid weeks I can't believe we didn't have half the place full of Duc riders playing hooky! What a beautiful day!! I've waited since April for a day like this. And the weekend weather looks just as good. Sweeeet!

For those hooky players that went to RPM for the Triumph test rides how about some info and details. Curious minds want to know!! Any down payments yet?? I was scared to go... there's a Speed Triple there with my name on it and I'm sure there's a state law saying I should never even see it!! Much less test ride it!! [bang] [moto] ;D

Anyway, great to see the gang today. Hope everyone made it home and back to work safely and I hope all of your "I know I'm late getting back from lunch" excuses passed with flying colors! [clap]

Awesome weather and turnout!!  It was good to see
everyone. Dax really does have and ride a Duc :o
btw the G Bush tollway was like riding on an
airplane landing strip, that thing going south to
30 is awesome and it's not even finished [moto]

Yeah, it was a great day to be out and about.  The Triumph factory big rig was wedged in the back behind the RPM building and they had a huge selection of motos - all of the '09 models - often two or three of each.  The rides were very professionally organized (once on the hour, every hour) and well managed with four Triumph folks riding herd on each group.  Once we went out, we had about a dozen riders in our group.

The demo ride route was roughly 10 or twelve miles through the back roads around RPM.  Lots of stop-n-go, uneven roads, railroad tracks, and the occasional 45 - 55 mph blast.  It was the Friday of Texas/OU weekend so I-35 was a parking lot in both directions.  I'm sure, originally, their route would have included highway time but it just wasn't happenin' that day  [bang]

Our lunch group got there just as a group left so of the seven of us that went to RPM after I'Fratelli's, only four stayed around until the next ride group went out.

I won't spoil the fun by saying who stayed or who rode what, but a good time was had by all.  I really enjoyed the Speedmaster (once I could consistently find the footpegs which were forward, roughly in line with the triples! :o ) and could see that bike being a mile-burning, all day touring thing in a laid-back, embrace your inner cruiser kind of way  [laugh]

ANY-friggin'-WAY, those are the details  [evil]  We had fun, rode some bikes, stood around and shot the shit enjoying a sunny day.  Doesn't get much better than that  [moto]

Much coolness all around. [thumbsup] I really would like to have gone but had other duties. I would love to test ride a Speed Triple. I think those bikes rock. As I said in my earlier post I need to stop even thinking about it! [bang] The Daytonas are way cool but I might want to ride the little Speed Triple even more... or it's big brother! [moto] Where's Doug Jones when you need him? Wonder if he still has his Speed Trip? For that matter, where the hell is that guy?? ??? :P

Yeah, I bet the game/State Fair/Friday afternoon traffic really screwed up their demo ride plans. I'm sure AMS is glad they did their demo gig last weekend. Yesterday would have been a much better day to demo at RPM. Kevin and I did a Muenster/Doc's run yesterday and the weather was just awesome!! Love this time of year. Falling leaves blowing across the road, long shadows, crisp air... waited through a long hot (make that HOT!!) summer for days like that. [thumbsup]
