Speed Reduction - RNP (WTF)

When down there early this morning to give the monster some exercise. Got to the McKell Rd intersection & there was a sign on a trailer warning of a speed reduction to 60 kph as of 10th Dec.

Bugger, this the good bit - quite tight & starts off at 60 then quickly turns to 70 then 80 (or at least it did). 

What gives ...

My favorite bit of twisty road up here in Nth Qld is about to be switched to 60k's from 80k's, and is one of the bigger reason's I'm debating selling my Bike.
The Law makers tell us it is for our own good, It's blatant revenue raising at it's best, the Cops will hide in the bushes and ping everyone. and yet our Road toll is officially the highest it has ever been.

It amazes me how up here in Cairns, people swallow the Speed lie and believe it! they claim so many people are dying because of speed, and yet out of the 40+ that have died on our regions roads, only a couple of  them (officially) have been contributed to speed! the rest were: drunk/drug driving, poor roads, Fog/Environment, Fatigue, Mechanical failure, Etc.

But are they fixing the roads? No!
Are they setting up more RBT's? No!
Are they putting more highway Patrols on the road? No.
Are they doing vehicle inspections? No.
But they are sending up 2 more Speed Camera cars and 2 more Laser units up from down south to Fight the war on Speed....

Typical, the laws are set by revenue raising Morons under the guise of trying to protect the dumbest people from themselves (the lowest common denominator) and the people with a brain between there Ears (and the ability to use it) get "F'd in the A" again.

Is it any wonder so many Riders I talk to up here are getting pissed off/fed up and are selling there bikes and walking away from the pastime/hobby/obsession they have enjoyed for many years.

Are they setting higher driving standards that Road Users MUST attain when they get their licences before they hit the roads?? Skidpan, handling, braking, braking obstacle avoidance etc, etc.?? Maybe for bike riders but definitely NOT the car morons!!

They do it in other countries, why not here?? The attitude is "You want a Licence?? Well this is what you have to do! Dont want to do it cos its too hard?? Well then PISS OFF!!" end of discussion. 

And I'll betcha every one of these car drivers will tell you they are a "GOOD" driver!! 

Define "GOOD"?? Havent had a prang for 10 years or are Skillful, attentive and have done advanced driving courses and regularly do refreshers?? Have the ability to handle the vehicle at high speed?? (NOT never been faster than 120kph, puhleeeze, not much safety margin there shit for brains.)

Every day you see these cars with Stability control, ABS and all the you beaut safety gear and some unskilled moron with an overinflated sense of their own ability has managed to write it off!
