My neighbor & riding buddy is a long-time flat track fan; we're going to be attending the Pro Nationals just up the road in PV on May 1:

Anyone else interested? It's conveniently located between the Congress to Prescott & Prescott Valley to Jerome twisty bits...

I'd love to go, but admission is a bit on the pricey side.
Hafta see how employed I am at that point....

One more reason to keep my fingers crossed for ya then.

If it's any extra inducement, the registered field for the twins includes one Duc Hypermotard & an Aprilia in among the Harleys.

Big fun last weekend at the horse track, including watching the first non-Harley win in a flat track mile in seventeen years -- by a Ducati Hypermotard!  [thumbsup]

There's a good write-up on the event at http://thefastanddirty.com/flat-track-racing/news/joe-kopp-and-ducati-win-budweiser-arizona-mile/ and I posted some of my photos from the day over on the Racing & Trackdays board http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=37844.0

Pencil in October 8 & 9 on your calendar, because they're bringing the circus back to Prescott Valley, this time for a two day run!

Was there a decent turnout?

I heard that it was a full-venue sellout; I do know the grandstand level (or whatever they call the middle level with actual seats, as opposed to the track level with some portable grandstands where we were) was sold out a couple of weeks before the race. The promoter was telling reporters there were 8,000 folks there, and it felt like it. One of them, apparently, was Sonny Barger, there with the Cave Creek chapter of the Hell's Angels, who had a booth in the vendor area...

And cold -- our unseasonably cool & very windy spring held through the weekend, so I spent most of the day in my leather jacket, just to stay a little warm. Didn't get to show off my Ducati Mecchanica T-shirt much, but Joe Kopp did get a kick out of it when I was asking for his autograph after the race...
