I think I'm close to 3k maybe now.  I've noticed that getting into neutral is a pain in the ass sometimes.  I hope that improves for me too.

You put stickier tires on?  I thought the tires that are on there are plenty sticky already.  I don't ever really slip the back tire out, but then again, maybe I'm not riding it like you are.

Ya, I have a 2 year warranty for my '09. I'll look into whether or not it's extended. Don't know off the top of my head. Thought that was one of the reasons why I chose a Duc over the others, though.

I did ride a lot in the last year, but I'm slowing down lately. The 7500 reflects a few long-haul road trips, too.

It got easier to find neutral at some point. It starts easier from cold. It got louder. There's a "flat spot" around 4K RPM now, and I find myself cruising at higher RPMs. Generally the bike feels less "snappy" than it did around 1-3K, but I attribute that to a few things: (1) I put on much stickier tires and now more energy is spent moving me forward rather than slipping the rear tire, and (2) I've become a more demanding rider and am used to the bike.

Edit: Forgot to mention better MPG after 1-2K. The fuel indicator used to blink on faithfully at 90-100 miles and, now, it's somewhere between 110 and 125 miles (with ~30 miles on reserve) depending on the terrain and pace.

There's an easy way to fix that.  ;)
