I was wondering if it would look good if I use 3M Di-noc carbon fibre vinyl... What do you think?  ???

One comment, you really need to add a line item:  Thoroughly clean forks.  if there is anything under the vinyl it can poke out or create corrosion.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

QuoteA hair dryer can be substituted for a heat gun....b/c it that's what it is.  Use on low to medium heat and DO NOT
STRETCH THE VINYL.  It causes problems during install, and after exposure to the elements stretched vinyl will try
to return to its original state causing cracks/peeling.

+1 on not stretching. Make sure you have enough extra vinyl so that you don't need to stretch. Wrapping forks shouldn't be a problem since there isn't much surface area, but me and my brother wrapped the fairings on a 750ss with a Maryland flag scheme. It turned out looking great, but when you have to stretch the vinyl the whole project becomes a major pain.

Question: Is it possible to wrap the entire frame in vinyl as an alternative to a tricky paint job? Or would the vinyl simply melt from the engine heat?

I don't think it would work very well, not b/c of heat, but b/c of the welded sections of the trellis frame that would be difficult to cover with vinyl.
