Frame sliders?

So I've just come into a fair amount of 1 1/2" dia. Delrin and I'm thinking about making my own frame / axle sliders. Question is, the rod which is threaded on both ends and used to hold the engine to the frame, is this a hardened rod or is this typical CRS rod?
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.
