First, this is an awesome site.

I removed the drain plug, filter, and screen plug (with the oil temp wire on it), but the screen isn't immediately obvious to me as I expected. There is a hexagonal fitting for an Allen wrench inside which might need to be removed but I'm not sure and I don't want to screw anything up. Do I have to remove this to access the screen?
Also there is no crush washer on the screen plug which makes me a little concerned as to how competent the previous owner was on maintenance.
Thanks for any help!

There should be a crush washer.

The hex is the screen.

It is 14mm.

It is tight, and  unfortunately I don't have a 14mm Allen wrench on hand. Looks like my morning commute will have to be on 4 wheels...
Thanks for the help!
