i need a new one.

i was thinking of a 1pc, but idk how it will work with the heated liner.
i want waterproof and plenty of pockets, armor is pretty high up there too.

limitations...i onlt have around $500 to spend and can only spend it in certain places (amazon.com is the only place i have found  on the list that has moto gear)

suggestions? any 2 pc ones that are worth looking at?

Are you looking for jackets or leathers?

There are plenty of jackets to be had for $500 and under.

I have the Scorpion Commander Textile Jacket and I love it! I bought mine from New Enough (now on sale for $210) in high-vis neon.

Get the awe pants and you're all good for less than $400!

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Leather is no good in the winter time. Textile is the way to go.

If you are going to be wearing a heated liner, you need less insulation, and more windprotection, in turn it wont need to be so bulky.

Theres PLENTY of good jackets at $500 and under. Almost anything rev it (someone is selling a jacket in the gear for sale)

personally, i rock a scorpion XDR Shock jacket ( and i rock the Awe pants as well). I love it, but lack of pockets, however its got leather on the arms and the rest is textile. The Commander jacket is the same thing with more pockets but no leather. ITs on slae for $199.

yeah - check out New Enough. That Commander from Scorpion is looking liek a good deal. Here's some details from WebBikeWorld

No FHE - but I want to try out some of the offerings from Rev'It. Their Sand jacket and pants might suit the bill.

I do have FHE with some of A*s cool/cold weather stuff. I have a Rhoma jacket and the ST-5 pants. I like, but don't love both, but I scored both for under $500. One gripe I had was that the jacket showed a connection zipper, but arrived with none. The other gripe is how the shoulder Armour sits on me, so a test fit would be good.

The pants, thought they were pretty good. The knee Armour is a bit odd, and I'm not 100% sold on it. But they were warm. With the liner my legs were warm, not just comfy at extended periods of super slab (70-75) at around 40 degrees. They aren't the most feature rich pants on the market, but they didn't cost me too much either.

I wear a Rev'it Cheyenne textile jacket and Rev'it Sand textile pants. I think they're a great combo. The both have multiple liners for cold, water, and wind.
Super comfy and plenty of pockets, and the jacket has a full jacket/pants zipper and a 1/4 zipper. The jacket is gonna cost you right around $500 new. You might be able to find it on sale somewhere for less but it's totally worth every penny.

thanks giuys. I totally forgot about rev-it.

and yes, i'm looking for textile. keep in mind that i ride ALL winter. in snow, rain, sleet, temperatures cold enough to make me form icicles on my beard...all of it.

and as much as i would like to buy your gear, i cna't use my gift card for you.
there is a list of specific places i can actually use it. luckily you can buy almost anything off of amazon.

Actually, I remember looking at that jacket. Seems like it's got some neat features. The LED on the back is a bit lames, but the integrated rain hood and the liner than can be worn w/o the armor shell is nice. Also, I've always been curious about that 3d0 armour - so once you get them please share your thoughts.

i got the pants on sat and the jacket today. here's my initial impressions from just wearing it around the house and doing a stupid dance. (the battery on the triumph died due to what i surmise is a bad regulator/rectifier and the xr should have had a new wheel bearing put in about a year ago so no riding for a while  >:()

the pants are nice, and they are long enough that they won't ride up as i'm sitting in the bike! (yay tall sizing)
they are a bit baggier than i had expected, but that's ok. they are all kinds of warm too. fun feature of these pants is the waterproof zippered pockets on the hips are lined with fleece and feel really nice when your hands are cold.

the jacket, in a word. POCKETS!
there are eleventy billion pockets counting the pockets on the liner.
with the liner in the jacket is a bit bulky and fits very snug. i'm wondering how i am going to get the heated liner on underneath.
it feels sturdy enough, but the armor feels a bit thin. i guess it's due to the advances in technology and it not being track leathers. the back pad doesn't feel like it's there at all when i'm wearing the jacket, but it has more armor than my current jacket so i'm ok with it.

i feel like i should be riding a BMW GSA when wearing it even though it's not bright yellow. [laugh]

UPDATE!

the gear still rocks the party.
the liner zips into the jacket, and that was kind of uncomfortable so i unzipped it but left it in that and things got much better.
the waterproof vent zippers seem to work well. i was in a monsoon last week and the vents on the legs leaked a little, but it's pretty insignificant so i'm not worried.
haven't gotten to test out the armor thank god.

in warm weather the vents work well, i found that if i open up the vents on the friont of the shoulder and leave the rear vents closed it funnels the air all the way don my back and since the pants and jacket are sipped together, my backside gets a cooling breeze.  [thumbsup] the vents also have a pull cord that holds them open so even at slower speeds the jacket takes in plenty of air.

I'm thinking I will not be switching back to the perf jacket in the summer too. that will stay as track leathers.
