Hi all, I'm Doug.  I lurk around Santa Cruz, CA.

Been riding the last decade solid, and more off than on for the previous decade. A long string of beater bikes led up to me relieving my first Duc, a Monster 620, from a friend who picked it up new then lost interest (I couldn't bear to watch a perfectly good machine just sit there).  Immediately, the Monster I rode created a monster within, a seriously strong desire, OK an obsession, to get a second Duc, my 916. Now, every morning when I look in the mirror, I tell myself "two really is enough" over and over.

As a compulsive tinkerer, after three years of trying my best to avoid doing anything major or irreversible to the 620, I'm giving up and diving in, starting off with a fork swap... (not trying to say that there is room for improvement over the stock unadjustable 620 forks, but... well... that's a flat out lie, there's a ton of room for improvement...)

Over the past couple of weeks, I've found the information on this forum, among others, extremely helpful in this endeavor, and I know that as I get into this job and others I'll accumulate questions to ask, answers to give, and knowledge to share, so here I am.

If it ain't broke...make it better or break it trying ;D

Cheers

~Doug
