Hey guys and gals,

I was wondering if anyone had tool part no. 88713.2676 or equivalent wrench for removing the late-model 'star' head nuts on an S2R800. I am addressing a loose valve guide on one head and would prefer to not fuss with ordering the tool if I can source it locally as a rental.

I am a former mechanic at Spare Parts in Philadelphia and am knowledgeable about and respectful towards all tools. If this local chapter has a tool share/rental organized, please let me know how I can participate.

Please PM me with your fee and thanks for taking the time to read!

Check the DESMO list if you haven't already -- they are mostly in the NYC area and might find actual wrenches there.

Alternatively, ebay has several guys who make copies of the factory tools for cheap.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I'm a bit confused here.  Where are you located Michael?  Are you in the northeast or are you in Texas?

Desmotimes sells another version of the tool you need at an affordable $42 http://www.desmotimes.com/product71.htm

LT has always been a strong supporter of DIYers and his products are always high quality.  That tool is something that I've been meaning to get, but just haven't gotten down the list yet to buy it.

I should probably have mentioned I am in Austin!

Thanks, guys, for the recommendations. If no one here has one, you will know who will have one in the future :)
