[Dolph]  Went to my 50th High School Reunion.  I had trailered my 07' Ural Patrol sidecar rig from Florida for a leisurely ride around the old hometown while we were there.  We stayed with my old friend Doug. In 1962 he bought a 1954 Triumph 650 Thunderbird and I bought a 1954 BSA Golden Flash 650. The race was on for the next 50 years with both of us buying selling and riding many different bikes.  This year was no different. He had in his garage a Ducati Tricolore 1198, a Yamaha R1, and a 06' Ducati Monster SR2 1000. I have a 10' Triumph Bonneville (done up cafe) at home which is no match for any of his bikes.

Every Sunday morning Doug gets up at 0500 and is on the roads of Long Island blasting around when there is no traffic. He invited me to join him. He offered me his Monster while he rode his 1198. I jumped at the chance and I was glad that I did.  What beautiful sounds we made through the twists and turns of the North Shore of Long Island. The Monster had Arrow exhaust and the 1198 had Termi's. The sounds, the power and handling was awesome! I was 18 again and we were back in high school.  I had a smile so wide my wife tells me she could see it through my full face helmet.  ;D

I asked him about acquiring a Monster and he said he wanted to sell the one I was riding so he could get a new EVO 1100.  The deal was made and all that I am waiting for is shipping cost.

See you all at Ducstock 2011 at Barber's.

welcome to the board. i have the same bike and have been happy with it.
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Thanks, I believe it's going to be a good one.  It's got 12k on the clock and the 12k service has been already done. My friend has been without electricity or telephone because of the hurricane, so communications have been spotty. He did say he will try to ship it next week. You would think at 68 years of age not many things would excite a person but I am excited and will be hanging around the front door waiting for the next week or so.

Bringing it to Barbers is my next goal. Yahoooo!

Awesome, enjoy the bike, they are really fun rides  [clap]

A 1-way plane ticket is often cheaper and a lot more fun than shipping  [Dolph]
