So I have heard mixed things from people and technicians alike about aftermarket options. One Ducati tech suggested that any exhaust swap be done with an ECU/TPS swap.Justification: stock will not work well with aftermarket pipes and will degrade said pipes performance boost; possibly even make worse.

All of the Arrow systems I have seen for sale, slip-ons as well as full systems and on multiple web pages, state that they systems specifically do not require an ECU swap and will boost performance approx. 5-8 HP alone.

I have historically sided with the latter opinion but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks.

they run funky with no attention to fuel mapping and more open, free flowing exhaust.  not terrible just not ideal.  but give it a go.  that's an easy fix if you don't like the combo.  either buy an overpriced aftermarket ecu or get a stocker reflashed.

think it's going to depend on the bike. i realize now you're on an S4R, which might be more prone to "funkyness"....
From everything I've heard, the 800's (like mine) tend run just a little lean, but fine.

My 06' 800 s2r ran much better with dp pipes and Leo Vince 2 into 1  than with stock pipes, especially down low. The rough spot between 3 and 4 grand is gone and now it pulls very cleanly and useably from 2K up. I did not mod the air filter. Bill
