New Join from Upstate NY

Well, greetings everyone.
The name's Mike, back in New York with my S2R 800 for the time being(waiting on my class at UTI to pick up).
Not really a whole lot to tell about me, but I was looking or some advice. Not too long after I bought the monster, some ass clown was going around base and kicking peoples bikes over for what ever reason. I have some scratching on the clutch cover and I was wondering what I can use/do so it doesn't kill me to see it every day.
Basically I'm trying to get rid of the damage and not make it look like I just sanded it down or something.
