I'm thinking about getting the Arrow Dark slip-ons for my Monster 796, but I want to paint over the aluminum bands and end caps because I don't have any other chrome/aluminum showing on my bike. I've found a guy that will powder coat those pieces, but I'm curious if anyone else has tried this? If so, please share some pics!

ceramic coating will be better for you.  It can withstand the heat temps.

Try  "VHT Header Paint" it withstands temps of 1300-2000 degrees f.
The can actually states its a ceramic coating.
I've used it on my pipes and 13k miles later it still looks great!
Be sure to sand and clean properly before painting.

BBQ paint ..very popular on strokers to paint pipes ...the only thing that holds up...mind you I have not tried the Header Paint , but BBQ is soooooo cheap

another +1 for BBQ paint. it held up very well on my first monster!
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Did anyone measure the temperature on headers with an infra-rd thermometer?  I am really curious.

I have painted my stock exhaust after coring them. Follow booger's tutorial in using rustoleum high temp primer and then using bbq temp will give it a flat black look.

However, powdercoating will give you a glossier look if you want that.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to give this a try. I'll check back in once they're painted.
