so i really wanted to raise the rear end of my old DSS monster and found this sweet arch on motowheels.com, which i believe is an S&P product similar to the one Raux used in his legendary m900 rebuild. here is a little pictoral of a job well done by Gary at Rockwells in Fort Montgomery, NY. he also relocated my plate for me in stealth fashion to clean up the tail!

first, got the arch QUICK from motowheels for about $240. Thanks guys:

here is my '99 m900 city with the original gold hoop. (LED taillight from vizi-tec):

gary just jacked up the engine, removed the hugger and removed the gold hoop from rocker and swingarm:

old gold hoop out, heim joints, or rod ends, removed:

new arch with heim joints. the arch adds 10-20mm, plus gary backed out the joints about 10mm:

installation of the new arch, with connection to the swingarm and rocker arm:

new plate location looks barely legal at first, less so after it comes down from the lift...

finished product looks much cleaner, and sits substantially higher than previous set-up:

thanks to Gary, Rockwells (the best shop in NY!) and to motowheels -- i'm riding high and tight!

why aren't the links going live? shouldn't the pics just pop up when you open the thread?

Nice work.

S&P is where I bought many of my parts (rearsets, passenger pegs and triples) but not this part, I have a 696.

BUT, saying that, they make great quality stuff.

make sure you also adjust your suspension. you've adjusted your weight bias, so it may dive harder on braking, you may have to adjust the front preload, etc.

also, no way that plate is legal  [evil]

sorry Raux, for some reason i was confusing you with this other guy, who also doesn't have an S&P arch http://m900.blogspot.com/

but he appears equally obsessed.
