Hello all, names Chris and i am soon the owner of a 13 monster 796. I pick it up this sat at the dealership and im  [bang] wishing I had it now. Come on saturday.
Anyways iv been riding for 4 or 5 months on an 06 ninja 250 even took that little bugger all the way to luckenbach texas for their motorcycle rally (harvest classic) http://www.harvestclassic.org/ . For those who are into nice long road trips its well worth it exp if you check out round rock area while your around. Some very nice riding around there. In anycase i was turned on to Ducati after that trip when i got a chance to see a few at the rally. I live in Houston Texas so its not a real long ride but it kind of is when you have a bike that acts like a thong after a couple hundred miles (just about need a crowbar to pry it from my ace). As you can tell im into road trips no matter how painful it is  [Dolph] .
I come from a more 4 wheel background and have enjoyed years of playing with 4cyl cars as well as v8s. Iv been on another forum for scion cars for a few years and am currently a mod over there though i find it harder and harder to find time to get on there or have the want to get on there. In case anyone is just bored to death here is a link to a thread i started over on scionlife thats pic heavy on the first post, kinda shows some of the things iv done. http://www.scionlife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143668&highlight=houston+style
Im no stranger to custom fab work so I think its safe to assume ill be modding the bike [thumbsup]

take risks

That looks awesome.

You will start doing mods in no time.

I predict these. (I would recommend in this order too.)
fork reflector removal
order frame and fork sliders
bar end mirrors
beer tray/integrated tail light

(Probably won't, but I would)
fork wrap in black
reposition ugly Ducati silver bike info stickers using painter's tape trick.

And does his first power wheelie some where in there.
My 695 does wheelies no clutch so yours does too.

Welcome to the asylum.

Nice new toy! Congrats!

I'd also recommend doing something about those big hulking duel exhausts.. Too bad all of these mod things cost that money stuff..

I dont really care for the bulky cans but the sound is pretty sweet imho. So im kinda torn on replacing em. My biggest gripe is the silver stickers on the frame.
If i were to swap out cans it would prolly be the Vance and Hines cs one http://www.surfsidemoto.com/store/product/VAH18112307.html .

I agree with the amber reflector, it needs to go!

Welcome - you've probably already spent some time checking out the common mods. If you're a DIY'er get thee a rear stand and see about a 14 tooth front sprocket. There might be some extra fussing with the electronics... but I I think that's just the traction control - I'm not ready up on the newest farkles.

If you take it to a shop to do any parts swaps - just be sure to get your stock stuff back. On occasion stockers just happen to remain at the shop.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Welcome, I have an 11 796 ( same color as yours )I got a month ago. Just finished installing Arrow dark cans with carbon tips. Left the baffles in and it's quiet but sounds great. Also have done an Evotech tailchop, evotech frame sliders, Rizoma grips and SpyR mirrors and removed the silver stickers from the frame. [thumbsup]

I hear ya, I do my best to get all my customers back their parts off their cars. Though i have trouble trying to get one customer to pick up his blown trans....heavy trash pickup is the first of next month ...hehehe
