Motorcycle Cops on Gowanus

Was riding home from Bklyn Battery Tunnel to the Belt.  There were about 10 motorcycle cops pulled over on the opposite side around 7pm today.  They were holding up traffic but I didn't see what was going on.  Anyone know what was going on or if it was a bike check point?
