695 is a 5am ecu.  if the s4r ecu is a 5am then yes.  s4r also came with 59m, in which case no.

I'm 99.8% sure it's a 5am. It's off an '06 s4r. I'll check when I get home, and if so bung it in the post for ya.

I just bought an '05 S4R without the red key and only one black key. I found this site, http://www.motorcyclekeys.com/ducatichipkey.html and ordered two black keys from him. When they came in, I took them to a locksmith who cut the keys then cloned the T5 chip inside. I left my original black key inside and individually tested to make sure the ECU recognized the key. Both worked fine.

I think I paid $18 per key then $22 per key to cut and clone. Now I have two back up blacks and don't use the original Ducati black key, I keep it in a drawer in case I need to copy more keys. The red key is needed to make new black keys if you lose both of them. It doesn't do anything with maintenance on the bike.

Hope this helps.

the red key is not able to override the immo.  you need the code card for that.  red key is only for coding new black keys.

Yep still got the code!  [thumbsup]

Have been advised by a motorcycle dealer that without the Red key any trade or sale price would be very much lower!  [roll]

Depends on who you trade or sell it too. I sold my 1098s to a bike shop in Moorooka and thought I had the Red key sitting around somewhere. When it came time to drop the bike in I couldn't find it and they didn't care. I didn't care either cause it was a large dealer that told me they were sending the bike interstate as is was a repaired repairable write-off. Good ol' honest used bike dealers.
You greatly underestimate the amount of overconfidence I have.

you mean the person who would be giving you money for your bike to buy it off you said that they have found an excuse to give you less for it?

would they find an excuse to offer you more?

if the immo is still active then yes, it's an issue if you don't have the red key and code card.

but most ecu I send out after reflashing are generally immo off too, as given the option most people say yes.  then the red key issue is gone.  if you don't believe the ecu has had the immo disabled unplug the dash.  if it starts, the immo has been disabled in the ecu.
