Question:

Can Ducati legally void out the warranty on your bike if you don't have the 600 mile service done at a Ducati Shop?
Its not like the first service is all that technical...
Its an oil and filter change, a chain adjustment, and they road test the bike.

Last time I checked, I know how to adjust the chain, and I can easily change the oil on this Ducati, just like I have on the one I bought used.

BC.

Legally, no, according to the the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.  Then again, is it worth a court battle?  Up to you.  If your dealer is good, honest and thorough I would consider letting them do it.  The first service is also a good time to get in writing any complaints you might have about the bike.  If you are not comfortable with the dealer then you might consider doing it yourself.  If you do, keep a log and all receipts.
