does anybody know the story aftermarket cans for it?

im looking to chop the tail on my 696 too, but it looks like its going to be more difficult than I thought.  I could just be stupid but it looks like you pretty much have to use the aftermarket fender eliminator kit to do it right.  Its all plastic with no frame to cut, and I cant figure out where I would re-hang the plate and whatnot.  Any help??
I have no idea what you are talking about....

Ya I have been looking at it.  To be the largest issue seems to be where to mount the rear blinkers ?  I suppose we can make something; but at that point it would be more cost effective to just buy the kit.  Shame it isn't released yet....

i ordered the kit back in march when i bought the bikes....
ill post you a bunch of pics when it arrives if you want to try to "improve" it....;)

I removed the reflectors the minute it hit the driveway. The ones on the fork were stubborn.

Hehe - funny.  I left my reflectors on thinking that I'll ditch 'em once I get around to 'em.  The very next day when I got the bike out of the garage I noticed that one fell off.  1/2 way through the ride, my friend pulls me over and says "Dude, shit is flyin off of your bike !"  So thinking the worst, I look at the seat cowl, belt covers, etc.  Then I notice the other reflector is gone  [thumbsup]

A little WD40 and you never knew they were ever there.

I had the same thing happen to me today.  Second day on the bike - 70 miles or so riding around town - and I feel something hit my right shin and go bouncing off behind me.  At the next light I take a look and the right reflector had fallen off.  Just popped off the other one.
