To the OP. Get your State DOJ involved. They are usually pretty severe with auto mechanics and the threat of losing their livelihood can make things move pretty quick.

I'm moving slowly through the process. Lately out of town trips have been interfeering but when I get back next Monday, a trip to the court house will get things rolling on the small claims court.

I also want to contact the owner of a nice newish looking ML 320 Diesel. That car has been captive back there for quite a while as well. Maybe between the two of us we can get the DA involved.

I used to collect money for situations like yours for a living. You are sooooooo much more civil than I ever was ;D. I've got some crazy experiences! Be careful with your investigating.

Driving by the shop yesterday on the way downtown we noticed a guy in the alley looking in the window. Stopped and Talked to him, he was looking at his car just sitting inside with the carburetor off. The Guy Patrick took his money to send the heads out to have them done 2 months ago. Heads are still on the car.

We exchanged information.

Meanwhile I had the suspension work done at Mercedes so I have a nice write up of what was done.

Update. We were working to get a small class action together when I was contacted by the local PD. One of the officers was directed by the DA to file a criminal complaint against the guy. He had 18 or 19 people in his records as opposed to my 6 so I'm letting him do that end. This means that the Small claims civil should be a slam dunk. Then I have to collect.

I'm going to leave this right here for my reference.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
