That's pretty cool.

As a rider in traffic, though, it's my worst nightmare.

Cars in traffic that (according to the wiki link) are painted in such a way that makes it difficult to estimate range, speed and heading.

What about chalkboard paint? Just leave them a few pieces of chalk to write their feelings and dreams.
