You guys are reading way to much into it. It's not supposed to be an exact replica, think Legos or Erector Sets. They make all kinds of skeltonized models. It's just a kids toy, or a neat little widget for the garage shelf etc.  ;)

That'd be because Erector in the US is just Meccano since ~2000. The brand name got sold a few times since the 80s and now the company that Makes Meccano uses it in the US. But they are just the same same

Not at all. The model per se is fine, buy it if you like it, don't buy it if you do not like it.

What is crass is the statement 'No detail has been overlooked'. Marketing BS trying to push junk onto cretinous people who are easily swayed.
