which ducati rear shocks will work on a 2001 m900? T/Y

Could I put a shock from a newer model monster or something else that is better than the stock shock?

All Monster non-S4 pre-'02 rear suspensions are the same, so any of those shocks will fit.

Not sure which ones are the best, but AFAIK, the S model bikes all came with adjustable shocks.

I have an S model and I can adjust the rebound and preload but I am looking for compression adjustment as well.
