leader/sweeper indicators?

the local group I ride with has a monthly ride where we pull usually between 50-70 bikes.  Of that amount, we have a handful of leaders and sweepers who are constantly moving around as we get separated at stop lights.

Our problem is finding an easy way to visually indicate not only to the other sweep/leads that the right person is in the front of a group.  We've tried some arm bands, but they're hard to see.  The next suggestion were those vests that the shopping cart retrievers use, flag men on the highway, etc.  Not sure how those will stand up on a speedy section of road.

Anyone have an idea of something that is durable and relatively affordable?  I don't think I can convince everyone to throw down $50 for a mil spec Icon vest or similar.  I've searched around online and just can't find anything that looks like it'll stand up to the ride and also be visible enough.

thanks
Andy

wear an orange t-shirt over your jacket/leathers.  Sounds stupid, may looks stupid but it works (lots of trackday control riders do that)
easy to see/identify who is who

Then tell them they can't lead  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

You will be once you sport your shiny new orange shirt?

Yeah, no help, but really, I don't see the issue.

How about these helmet ears from Aerostich?  Once you suggest these, people will probably agree to the orange t-shirt. [cheeky]

Here is a vest made for bikers. I use it in commuting and it has a place for my company id.
