Sidi Vertigo Corsa

I'm considering these boots. Does anyone have them? I tend to order online so I was wondering how true to size they ran. MC superstore wants 425 for them. Is that about right or should I seriously shop around. That price doesn't scare me off but I also want the best deal. Any pros or cons would be nice. I'm not a racer and I don't do track days but like good protective gear. I don't walk alot in my current MC boots but comfort for walking around is important. I rate protective/riding comfort most important with walking comfort least. They come in black so that's  plus. I'm no power ranger but protection is very important to me concerning my feet.See below.

I've been struggling with my busted boots for a month or so. I got stung by a bee on my foot and my whole lower leg swelled up. When I put my boots on I got the zipper up and then my calf blew the zipper out. Then my foot started turning funky colors and hurting pretty bad. I had to go to the freaking emergency room. 2 weeks later my foot was still funky around the sting site. Then (this was last week)I was walking through my garage and stubbed my pinky toe on the metal wheel of a floor jack. I was wearing flip flops. It amputated the tip of my pinky toe down to the nail, shattered the nail and also cut the toe next to it pretty bad. Thank god it was only the skin covering the tip and I didn't break or smash the bone. I've also broken one of my feet and several toes. A few years ago I dropped about 40 pounds of cast iron on my toes. I really didn't just drop it so much as shake it out of a jammed assembly. In effect I threw 40 pounds of cast iron on my toes. It was amazingly bad with shattered toenails skin and toe parts. It was a while before I could wear shoes. My MC boots at the time were very roomy and with my HD,which has a heel/toe set up for shifting, I was able to ride before I could comfortably walk any distance.

Foot protection is now very very important to me !!!

$425 is standard for those boots. 

The Vertigo Corsas are great, and I think, worth the extra $ from the Vertigos.  I know of too many people who have crashed in high quality boots with ankle protection who otherwise would have been make the beast with two backsed with a boot with less ankle protection.  They're comfy and you can spent all day walking around in them.  I did have a pair where the ankle protection party got caught in aftermarket rearsets, but I think that was more because of the rearset design than anything else.

As far as size, don't pay attention to the online converters.  The Vertigo Corsas fit differently than the Vertigos.  I comfortably wear a 41 in a Vertigos.  Vertigo Corsas in a 41 are way too small for me.  A 42 fit much better.  I wear a 8.5-9 US, closer to an 8.5.

Also look at Daytonas for protection.  Daytona Evos.

I'm planning on getting the Vertigo Rain. I'm getting mine from NewEnough, so should you since they (soon?) are donating $1 for every sale to the DMF - plus they are the very best at treating customers right (I know by FHE). If you're lucky you'll be taken care of by Megan (have a look!).

Price is still $425 ($12 free shipping allowance).

Sidi are quite narrow, so watch out! They have the Mega Wide Gore if you need them.

I run the Vertigo for winter and tried on some Vertigo Corsa Air for summer - found the sizing to be consistent across the 2 models actually.

I originally thought that the Corsa received the carbon shin guard, ceramic scuff pads and the foot arch retainer for better fit...

I didn't realise that the Corsa came with lateral ankle protection. that alone is worth the extra $125 in my book.

now all I've got to do is find a Vertigo Corsa Air in 48...a German bloke emailed me and said that they were being replaced with another model for 2009 that should be released in October? bit of a rumour!

new boot is called the Sidi Vortice and is coming out in December.

Motowheels are putting through an order within a week.

the black ones look great and replacable sole and adjustable calf sizing!

I use the Vertigo Corsa Air in the summer and Vertigo Corsa for cooler rides.  I bought both from forumites for around $350 shipped...and they were practically NEW!

...but yes, they are $425 EVERYWHERE on the Internet.

The Corsa's are great.  In your price range and with your foot issues you should definitely look at the Daytona's as Spidey recommends.   I recommend checking out the Dainese Axial Race boots.

I've had both the Sidi's and Dainese and feel they are similar protection wise but they like any 2 brands of boots/shoes fit differently.  The Sidi's were too narrow for me in the toe box (sole to top of foot not side to side). 

Which brings up a good question.  Have you tried any of these boots on?  If you can't you'll want to buy from a place that allows returns/exchanges without jamming you for a restock fee or penalty.

I figure that the new Vortice takes at least 8 movements to put on, compared to 2 for vertigos and 4 for Vertigo Corsa.

so I agree - more time consuming to put on.

We are putting together an order for SIDi. We will be offering a pre-delivery special for forum members. The products will be going on the website next week after we figure out what we willbe getting.

You should also check out the DAINESE "Torque Out Air" Boot andDAINESE "Torque Out" Boot . These have great protection and are very easy to put on. The nice thing about these is they look like like regular boots and are very comfortable for walking or riding.

Some people prefer the PUMA "GP1000" Boot: Black/Copper and the latest version : PUMA "1000v2 - 09" Boot: Black/Dark Shadow/White . These have an incredible amount of protection and are almost like ski boots. The only downside is the supply is very poor until October.

I have a pair of "Dainese Torque out perforated" and "PUMA GP1000". I tend to wear the Torque out more because it is easier to put on and take off.
