I'm tired of my Monster not starting.  This is the second Xtreme battery, and yesterday it only cranked once while being kept on a battery tender.  And I ride it daily too...it shouldn't need to be kept on a tender.

I've read a few threads on batteries, and I'm not sold on the Yuasa either.  Especially when winter comes (Raleigh doesn't get really cold, but below freezing for a few/several weeks/year).

I want to get an Odyssey battery, but I'll need to fab a battery tray (the Odyssey is larger and needs to sit lower to allow the tank to seat).

I know a few of you have done this, can anyone share a template for the battery tray, or is it trivial to fab one up?

Thanks,
  Dave

It could be a problem with your starter motor too!

Monstermick over here in Oz had the same problem. Found the brushes in the starter motor were worn out.

Best way to see if this is a problem is to obtain an electrical multimeter. Check the voltage across the terminals of the battery before and during cranking. If there is only a few volts drop the battery is OK.

See how that goes.
