I know it has really gotten my attention, I like the fit of the 696 sized frame, and love that motor in the HM, it would be sweet in a bike 20lbs lighter.  The HM's are geared shorter (15/42  vs 15/39)  but that would be an easy mod for the M1100.

The streetfighter looks kinda like a sue zook to me.  It's a badarse looking bike fo SHO, but I think it looks like something that sue zook already has out.  I should know, I see nothing but japanese bikes around killeen where I go to school...that's all that the army boys ride....that or cruisers.

Redline on the 1100 is 8500 or 9000.  Don't remember zigactly as I was wickin' it up when I hit redline.  Each time.   [evil]  Seriously, don't be disappointed with the power curve.  All I know is that the engine was a kickass 2V street engine.  Really fun.  In stock form, there's a big hit of power/torque at about 5.5k and you ride it to about 7.5k where you want to shift anyway.  With an exhaust, it would open it up more down low, I bet.

Thanks for the info Spidey [thumbsup]

For those that don't go into the GMF... Spidey got to spend a few days with the M1100 in Spain *drool*

High praise then.  Good to know.  Thanks Spidey and Bryant.

I like the way the new Monster looks.  I'm curious to know if it was just a styling exercise or a functional one that led them to change the swingarm from a double a la Desmosedici to a single sided a la SBK.  I would have thought the DSSA could be made lighter and stiffer less expensively than the SSSA and would carry the look of the bike from the M696 to the M1100.
