FIM tuners in San Diego?

So I'm assuming that you provide vital information like airbox status (i.e. open vs stock) and the exhaust system and the FIM ECU is tuned accordingly?

IIRC, it was a map for an S4 that was stock other than cans, which matches how my engine is set up.

FIM may have other maps available.

Don't do an FIM.  Seriously, no one in the US can--or wants to--tune the thing.  If a canned map doesn't work, you're fuxored.

Well If my gauges fail (bough it with a crack) I don't want to go OEM as I fear the cost associated. 
Therefore my plan was to pick up an FIM, an upgradein gauges, and have the bike tuned accordingly (50mm exhaust and open airbox).

I'd worry about it when and if it happens.   I looked around everywhere for someone who'd tune an FIM when my monster was being built.  Pretty much no one wanted to touch the thing.  That said, if you can find someone willing, that's great.  They'll need to spend a ton of time and energy and dyno time to get it right.  PM kopjager.  I think the shop that built his bike managed to get an FIM tuned.

I have a FIM u59 in my m1000.
I went with the FIM for a couple of reasons. I was pissed that my stock one had failed at 13,000 miles, and I was pissed that a stock replacemant was $1600...1300 for the DP unit seemed a bit much too.

The FIM with software was the same price, maybe a little less, and gave me the freedom to make changes. I liked this idea as i have dreams of some MBP redheads someday.

Anyway the syock map was way lean at low throttle positions in the 3-5k range. This was very easy to fix with a few tweaks to the map. Bike runs great now! No surging or popping, just smooth delicious power all the way to the programable rev lmit.

There is very little to NO support for FIM in the states but I would do it again in a heartbeat as I am quite happy with the end result, Which could probably be further improved with some dyno time. But it's not a race bike and my butt dyno says it's close enough for me.
